Cakes, cakes and more cakes!!

Well, I've just made my second wedding cake of the year! I only make them for friends and family and they are usually the persons present!

The first wedding cake of the year was in June, for my brother-in-law and his new wife (and long suffering girlfriend of many years!).

She asked for a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and decorations, she's a total chocoholic. There was only 18 of us at their wedding, I think her plan was to eat as much of it herself, well she had been on a diet for ages, why not!

Here's my results

The groom didn't get any say in what they had as a cake, so I came up with a "cake" all for him, which my husband, who was bestman, incorporated into the speech

Complete with cigarettes tied up with bows, it went down well, thank goodness, saying that the bride wasn't too happy me supplying her new hubby with ciggies!

Just this weekend, my husbands cousin got married to his long term girlfriend and I had the honour of being asked to do their wedding cake too.

This cake has 125 hand made roses (well I have to blow my partner in crime and my trumpet once in a while) and I would be still making them now if I hadn't roped my business partner into helping!! I think it even looks quite professional, to my amazement, I'm sure, you reader, will tell me not to give up the day job if it isn't.
